Non-conformal mesh with blockMesh

Hi foamers:

I am quite new to openFoam, even though I have some experience with other CFD solvers.

I am considering the possibility of using a non-conformal mesh in a bluff body aerodynamics problem (which does not involve dynamic meshes) for the sake of saving computer time (using a coarser mesh in the boundaries of the fluid domain).

I have been using blockMesh, and all my trials have been unsuccessful to date. For instance I have tried face merging with negative results. I have also surfed internet but I have not found a clear indication about how to deal with this problem.

Could someone provide some advice regarding this issue.

thank you very much in advance.

Hi,

I know it's been quite a few years since this was posted, but have you found an answer?

Thanks,
Martin

Hi Martin,

You can take a look at AMI that has been around since OF 2.1.
