weird behaviour snappyhexmesh

hi everyone,

im getting to the end of my thesis and the time is short. so i take it short as well ;)

im meshing an stl file with BM and SHM. its a tube with bifurcation and 2 outlets.

the meshing is working fine up to one point:

when i change the blockmesh to be finer, snappyhexmesh doesnt work any more: it doesnt cut the stl-file out of the blockMesh anymore.

i attached snappy.log, blockMesh.log checkMesh.log snappyhexmeshdict and blockmeshdict.

it would be gorgeous if somebody could help me, i got some big cases to run threw the weekend.

Thanks a lot!
ferdi

The issue might come from the resolution of your STL file... Where did you create the STL model? Try reducing the tolerance while writing the STL data and check

hello akshay,

thanks for your answer!
i solved the problem with exporting the stl file in more seperated parts and changing the SHM-option mergeTolerance from 1e-6 to 1e-7

:)
