Mesh movement to simulate vibration/oscillation of a flat plate

Hi,

I have used the oscillatingFixedValue bc to simulate a vibrating wall (with known frequency and amplitude) with some success. However now I dont want to use wall velocities any more and interested in moving the mesh to simulate the same. The case is a simple 3D box where I want the bottom face/plate of the box to vibrate with fixed frequency and amplitude. Any ideas/ tuts similar to the case? do i use slidinginterface? 6DoF?

Thanks.

I have a very similar question and am curious whether you are attempting to model your motion with a moving shape inside of a mesh domain (so like a deforming mesh) or a sliding mesh with a fixed shape inside of it. I am trying to model an airfoil oscillating in an airflow and have been told that it must be done using a sliding mesh for accuracy purposes. Love to hear anyone's feedback on either of these questions

Look at pimpleDyMFoam/movingCone tutorial and apply oscillatingFixedValue to applicable pointMotion field in your setup :)
