Creating patch after using Snappyhexmesh
1 Attachment(s)
Hello guys,
I am facing a complication in creating a patch for my problem. I am working on a pinfin heat exchanger were a plate is placed over it . I have done with my meshing. But i want to create a separate patch for my inlet and outlet. Is there any way this can be done? Can anyone plse help me... May be to give u a rough idea i hv attached a image. with regards, Dinesh |
No one out there to help me out?.

Hi Dinesh, maybe there is help for your problem... is the volume in between those sketched plates also meshed?
|
Hello Stefan,
Thx you for your reply. I did my meshing using snappyHexMesh. The volume between the plate and pinfin is not meshed(empty). So the flow should be inbetween the pinfin and plate. Since my model doesn't have many parts i am unable to save separate stl files for inlet and outlet. So i am having problems creating a inlet and outlet patch after meshing. I was also not allowed to post any real time picture regarding my project. Please help me out. Thanks in advance, Dinesh |
I am still a bit confused...
If you model flow in between, you need a volume mesh there!? Please give some more details about your set-up... How many stl-files do you use? What is the topology of your background mesh? |
Maybe you could use a stl with the position and the size of the inlet and outlet and justo include them in your snappyHexMesh as a patch. Let me know if you could solve it.
