Dear all,
I'm trying to use the snappyHeXMesh to mesh the flow field around a cube. I want to keep the mesh outside the cube and delete the mesh inside it. I defined a point outside the cube and inside the bounding box using locationInMesh. but the result shows to keep the mesh in both sides of the cube as illustrated in the pictures. I'm really confused about this. Can anyone help me with this? Thank you very much. I've attached my case as following. |

Hi,
I ran your case as is, and there was no mesh through the cube. I am not sure where your cut planes were taken, but if you do a Y-plane cut that goes through the cube, you will see that there is no mesh there. If you used the default location of the cut plane that Paraview gives you, then it might seem like the mesh has gone through the cube. The explanation for that is that the cut is just after the cube and so there are mesh elements at the supposed location of the cube. Hope this helps. Cheers, Antimony |

Dear Antimony
Thank you so much for your help. That's the right reason... I use the default location just behind the cube to cut the Y plane. This problem has confused me for a couple of days, i didn't expect the reason lies here. I read through my snappyHexMeshDict file again and again but can't figure out why this happened. Thank you again for your help. Best wishes Yanan |
