Hi dear foamers,

I am a beginner in OpenFOAM simulation.

Now I'm getting quite anxious with the defination of :

Cellzone,
Facezone,
Cellregion

Setset,
Cellset.....

Could anyone help me to get out from them?
I'm really no idea what do they mean....

Thanks!

Hey,

If you begin with OpenFOAM, my best advice is to read the most you can the powerpoints presentations at this adress.
And for your meshing questions, you will more precisely see the lesson called " Meshing using OpenFOAMŪ technology " on Module 3.
I hope it will help you, all these slides were almost the only way for me to understand anything with openfoam !

Hi Janry,

If you have some doubt about the use of "topoSet" utility and the definition of the "cellSets" and "cellZones" you can take a look at my web site where I have some basic multiregion tutorials explained in detail.

I hope it can help you a little bit.

Bst regards,

Alex

Hi Zfaraday,

Thanks for your information.
I've just read your website, that helps me understand the cellzone.
However, i'm still quite confuse about difference between the following definations:
cellSets, faceSets, pointSets, cellZoneSet, cellzone, facezone, cellregion...

Could you give me some more advices about those definations?
Thanks a lot!

Janry

I'm glad you find it useful, Tom! And thanks to let me know, I like to have some feedback from people who used my site and they liked it (or not, I also accept constructive criticism).

Best regards,

Alex

Hello,

I know I am too late, but I can not access the pdf "Meshing using OpenFOAMŪ technology" at the link you shared. It seems the pdf is removed or moved somewhere else. Would you mind if I request its physical copy (if you have)? If not, could you suggest another resource about this issue?

Thanks in advance.
