Hi,

I am trying to convert .ccm mesh to fluent readable format .msh through OpenFOAM v3.0+ . I am completely new to OpenFOAM and using it on Windows 8.1 using Docker tool. Can anyone please help me to perform the mesh conversion?

Would be really thankful!

Dear Shubham,
you have to install an optional plugin (ccm26ToFoam) in order to be able to convert meshes from ccm+ to OpenFOAM format.
Here in the forum you can find some dedicated pages that explain how to obtain this plugin and install it. Also openfoamwiki is useful.
Good luck,
Stefano

Thanks Stefano!

Well I actually got a better option than using OPENFOAM, directly convert the star ccm+ mesh (I used in 3D) into Tecplot 360 (.plt) format which is readable in Fluent solver.

For future reference:

In Star CCM+, Export > Mesh Only (Select all boundaries and regions) > save in Tecplot 360 (.plt).

In ANSYS Workbench, Component Systems (Left pane) > Fluent > Setup > (opens Fluent solver) > File >Import > Tecplot...!!!

Is there a known size limitation for exporting meshes in the *.plt format? I was able to export a 120E+06 cell mesh but starccm+ fails to export a 220E+06 cell mesh.

Also, does FLUENT have a known size limiting for importing meshes? I was able to export from STARCCM to *.case with the 220E+06 cell mesh, but FLUENT has been importing the file for 48 hours.
