Dear all,

I have run an openFoam case simulation, I would like to convert The openFoam mesh into Fluent Mesh so that I can run the simulation again using the same geometry in Fluent. I expected that the OpenFoam utility "foamMeshToFluent" can do the conversion. However, I have run my OpenFoam case using 256 processors and this utility cannot be run with a "-parallel" option.

So what should I do now? How to convert my OF mesh into Fluent mesh for parallel case?

Any comments are appreciated! Thank you.

Regards,
Dominic

Your mesh, if you made it in OF, is defined by your blockDict or related file. If so, you can just get the mesh in the system folder, the processor folders just have processor decomposed meshes. You can just run foamMesh... without the parallel option.

If that doesnt work, do reconstructPar for the first few calculated time steps, and then use the mesh conversion utility.

Lemme know if it works?

Thank you for your help.

If I go into the processor files and run the mesh conversion utility individually, it works. However, how can I use these decomposed *.msh files in Fluent?

My case is quite large, so reconstructPar cannot be used since it needs too much rams and the reconstructPar utility cannot be run in parallel.

Oh just run foamMeshToFluent in the base directory, no need to go into the processor folders. Without the -parallel option. It should fetch the mesh and convert it to fluent.
