Mesh generation of airFoil2D
Hello, I want to know how the mesh is generated in airFoil2D (tutorials/incompressible/simpleFoam/airFoil2D/constant/polyMesh), as there is no blockMeshDict or any other file like this in the polyMesh directory.
I am new in OpenFOAM and I wanted to simulate airfoils of different shape. What is the easiest way to generate mesh files from airfoil coordinates? I am using OpenFOAM v5.0. |
flow over airfoil in openfoam
hello, considering you are new to the openfoam, you can create airfoil geometry using gmsh and the then do the meshing in gmsh only then diectly import the mesh from the gmsh, and perform the simulation.
this is one of the ways you can can do that, but there are multiple other ways also, like importing airfoil coordinates in the ICEM CFD and create mesh there and import in openfoam. i hope this is help full |
Hi all,
just in case anyone is interested in this, an airfoil generation procedure can be found under incompressible/pimpleFoam/wingMotion/wingMotion_snappyHexMesh |
