Import into OpenFoam from the package Petrel E&P Software Platform

Dear Members,

Without beating around the bush, I'm pleased to be part of this community and hope to make long lasting contributions and gain some essential knowledge as well while using such a sophisticated tool as OpenFoam and communicating with all of you. To begin with, I got it set up a while ago and now am trying to get my head around some stuff I can't comprehend. I have a grid from the package Eclipse Petrel that should be imported into OpenFoam to perform some numerical calculations. I had a chance to have a look-see at the online tutorial that partially helped me clear the air. Nonetheless, I'm still struggling with loading data to it. As far as I understood, there're some mesh converters that could assist users in getting their foot in the door and completing tasks they've to do. Anyway, I was wondering if any of you dealth with the same task. I can export my grid from the package Petrel in the following formats: 1) eclipse extended grid (egrid, fegrid); 2) eclipse grid (grid, fgrid); 3) eclipse keywords (grid geometry and properties) (ASCII); 4) eclipse well completion data (ASCII); 4) eclipse well connection data (ASCII); 5) generic simulation grid (GSG); 6) petrel format (binary) (ptd, dat); 7) rescue format (*.*); 8) resqml format (resqmL); 9) well simulation general format (ASCII).

Could you please tell me which converters I could technically use to successfully go through my task?
Look forward to hearing from you soon

Petrel/Eclipse→MRST→OpenFOAM

Hi Denis,

not sure if you are still interested in this but we have now a converter from GRDECL to OpenFOAM format, developed using functions implemented in the Matlab Reservoir Simulation Toolbox (MRST). It will be online in a few days as part of our SECUReFoam suite for porous media simulation but feel free to contact me if you need it

Hello, I am very interested in the converter you developed using MRST. Could you please provide the website?Thank you.
