Hi,
Is there a difference between foam extend 4.0 and of5 in the functionality of the add layers controls? I have the exact same stl file, with the same inputs in snappy, but in OF 5 I have a nice clean boundary layer, in foam extend 4.0 I don't get any boundary layer. Any suggestions on what I'm missing? |

Quick answer: If I'm not mistaken, snappyHexMesh in foam-extend has not been synchronized with OpenFOAM since 1.7.x. Therefore, there are a lot of bug fixes that are missing in foam-extend's snappyHexMesh.
Nonetheless, you can generate the mesh with OpenFOAM 5 and then continue using foam-extend from there onward.
