I have been trying to create blockMesh with multiple blocks. The patches to be merged have three edges in common. How should I use mergePatchPairs for this case? I am new to OpenFOAM. I am using OpenFOAM 3.0.1.

Hello,
I've tried to run your dictionary and I think that your problem is before the patch merging. In particular, you declare the patches "back" and "front" by 8 vetices but, when you build hexaedral mesh, a face (2D) is always defined by 4 points and a block (3D) by 8 points. You can try to find and solve the error in the faces definition by starting the debug from the attached file version. About the face merging I've your same problem (see attach 2). I've solved it by a random change of master-slave order in the arguments of mergePatchPairs but I still don't understand the reason of the error. Andrea |
