Hi All,
I am wondering if it is possible to disable the balancing step in snappyHexMesh? I have noticed that it is consuming a significant percentage of the total computation time of the meshing process, and I am curious what the consequences would be if we disable this balancing step? For my specific geometry, I know approximately how the final refined grids will be distributed, and I can easily use decomposePar to decompose the mesh into the appropriate regions where the cell distributions are relatively well balanced. Does anyone have any insights into this? Thanks |

I'd say give it a shot and see what happens. I'm guessing you can just set the maxLoadUnbalance value to say 1.0 in snappyHexMeshDict to avoid the rebalancing operations.
