Hello foamers

I am trying to interpolate data from volume to point (FVM->FEM)
It looks like openfoam can provide various connectivity files as it can be seen here : https://jibranhaider.weebly.com/blog...on-in-openfoam
From this, I would like to access
1. Cell to point
2. Point to point
3. Cell ID
However, it looks like by default, polyMesh doesn't output these informations
As I am using Windows version of OpenFOAM, I would like to output these without modifying and compiling. Also, as I am 2D meshing from fluent and convert it to OpenFOAM, gathering these connectivity from .msh file is not an option.
Is there any command line that outputs these connectivity data?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

P.S., can anyone explain owner and neighbor cell? I have read most of past questions here but don't quite understand it fully. I have no idea why for each owner cell(internal), there is only one neighbor cell.

Lee.

Hey Lee,

I don't know how to do in OpenFOAM, but maybe you can use the functionality CellToPoint or PointToCell in paraview/paraFoam.

You have to open your faom.case in paraview and apply the filter CellValueToPoint or something similar.

Cheers,
Carlo

Thanks for input Carlo. Looks like Cell value to point value interpolates original OpenFoam output (cell-centered FVM) to point data (similar to FEM). Am I understanding correctly?

Also, looking at filters tab, there is connectivity but it doesn't seem like its point to point connectivity. Do you know of a way to export point to point connectivity?

Thanks a lot

Lee
