hello, you can see the geometry in the link. There is always problem during addLayer cuz of the serration at the trailing edge of profile. Can anybody give me some hints? |

>> addLayer - sharp edges
>> Can anybody give me some hints? Give up, or have a look at the guide (may be a useful setting you can find for that = https://www.openfoam.com/documentati...sh-layers.html) (ensure the surface mesh (e.g. STL file) is very fine.)

https://drive.google.com/file/d/1sbT...ew?usp=sharing I read the link and set snappyHexMeshDict again, but still there are no layers at the trailing edge, even I am meshing a normal blade without serration... Does anybody really dont have any experience for this problem? Last edited by spalartallmaras; May 10, 2020 at 22:40. |

I gave up to use snappyHexMesh and will use cfMesh which is much more simple.

Hi,
- I regret my remark. But my remark was limited to the cases where a user needs a very good quality boundary layer mesh. Otherwise snappyHexMesh is very powerful, and easy to use. - "cfMesh" is not easier or more powerful with its current state than snappyHexMesh. Also, the open-source cfMesh is not being updated - or not supported any more since cfMesh group decided to go forward in another direction (cfMesh+). Hope it helps.
