Any way to refine internal surfaces within the mesh?

Dear all,
Using SHM, I am trying to refine a region/body within my mesh to be able to define a complex porous region. As far as I can see now, I always have to define a "locationInMesh", which leads to either the cells within my future porous region, or the cells outside of it being removed. Essentially I want snappyHexMesh to skip bullet 4.4.4 from the user manual. Is there any way to achieve this with snappyHexMesh? Or do I have to use a different mesher? |

Place the locationInMesh outside of the future porous region and then in surfaceRefinement you can prescribe a cellZone inside of your region, which tells snappy to keep that region instead of cutting it out. This should be of help: https://www.cfdsupport.com/OpenFOAM-...t/node266.html
