Dear all,

I have a set of 3D data points that looks similar to sphere. I need these data points to be connected as a mesh so that it can be used for simulation.

I would like to know if we could covert a set of 3D data points (surface) to a mesh? Visually, in paraview, I could see by using Delaunay 3D filter. But since it is not smooth, I cannot use it for simulation purpose.

So, any leads would be appreciated if there is a way to convert a cloud of data points to surface mesh. Later, I can use this to create internal mesh. I am currently working for this in MeshLab software.

Thanks and Regards,

Hello Sunag,

Have you been able to found any solution? I am also looking for something like this: converting some Lagrangian particle data into Eulerian field (much like applying Delaunay2D or 3D filter in ParaView). But I presume this should be possible in OpenFOAM itself...

Anyone else here, tried to map particle data into a cell data field?
