Holes in Mesh after conversion

1 Attachment(s)
Hi all, I have converted a 3D Mesh from Fluent to OpenFOAM that has got tetrahedral cells. But after conversion I can see some holes in the 3D as well as 2D mesh inside paraview. But this problem is not with hexa cels. Can anyone please suggest what is the problem? Is OpenFOAM not suitable for tetra cells? I attached the picture.

Many Thanks.

Hey!

I suspect it is only an issue with the visualization in Paraview. I have encountered this issue sometimes when using fluent meshes, but I could always run the cases.

What does checkMesh say? I think you should be fine if the import was successful.

Hi, Okay, checkMesh is fine. But then how can I submit these results with these holes? Is there a way to correct it? with hexahedral cells this issue is not coming.

thanks.

Have you tried turning on the "Crinkle slice" option, to avoir splitting cells? It might be better looking. Did you open a reconstructed or decomposed step? Decomposed steps can sometimes lead to visualization issues in my experience.

Hi Brother, I opened a reconstructed case. No I havent tried the crinkle slice option. But what I am seeing is when I am giving tetra cells this issue is coming, but when I am giving hexa cells this issue is not there. Thanks. Do you have any suggestions?

Now I have tried the crinkled slice option but I want to look at a flat slice to submit these results in my project.

Hey!

I noticed you are using Paraview 5.3. Maybe you could try to upgrade to the latest version (5.11 I believe). It could help with the issue.

No other idea right now sorry!

Thanks, no problem

Hi , I am using the terminal of my HPC and there I could only open paraview/5.3. I tried opening latest version of paraview but it is showing a graphics error
qt.qpa.plugin: Could not load the Qt platform plugin "xcb" in "" even though it was found.
This application failed to start because no Qt platform plugin could be initialized. Reinstalling the application may fix this problem.

Available platform plugins are: xcb.

I am doing this to visualise the results directly on the HPC. Any suggestions what to do? Thanks
