Hello all,
I have been stuck on this for a while now. So, any help would be appreciated. I converted .msh file created in hypermesh to openfoam mesh using fluent3dmeshtofoam. The command successfully created the cell zones’ file and even the meshCheck showed an OK report. However, when i tried to visualize the converted mesh in paraview, all the cell zones get combined together into one big cell zone. I have tried different approaches like mergemeshes command, using setToZones. But every-time I open the mesh in paraview, all the cell zones get combined into one. Just to make sure that the problem is not just with the paraview, I converted the openfoam mesh back to fluent and found that all the cell zones were indeed combined together in one big cell zone. I am not able to figure out as to why is this happening even when the cell zones were properly created as pointed out in the cell zones’ file and checkMesh. Please help. |

Not sure. Two lousy options.
1/ check in the source of fluent3dmeshtofoam at https://develop.openfoam.com/Develop...ref_type=heads whether zone information is preserved. Does not look to be the case at first sight. 2/ Ask Fluent to write each zone into a seperate mesh file. Apply fluent3dmeshtofoam to each zone. Use mergemeshes to create a single mesh file. Apologies this not being the answer you hoped for. |
