This is a two-part question:
1) How much sharpness is required for a simulation 2) How to achieve a specific level of sharpness I'm trying to simulate a 2d external flow case of a specific triangle arrangement, so basically a 3d case but with one cell thickness. But for some reason, the sharp corners don't mesh well with SHM, and though I know SHM for sharp corners isn't the best, I was instructed to only use SHM. I copied the meshing directories from Code:
/opt/openfoam12/tutorials/incompressibleFluid/wingMotion 1) Increased block mesh resolution 2) Created a surfaceFeaturesDict for the mesh and created Explicit feature edge refinement Code:
features ( { file "birds_60.eMesh"; level 6; } ); 4) Increased nSolveIter to 50 Yet the snapping isn't perfect. The blunt edge still persists. Is it possible to improve this? and is the current quality for any real CFD work? Thank you. Pictures: https://imgur.com/a/hzsBINp |
