SnappyHexMesh STL patch naming

First of all, thank you OpenFOAM team for a marvelous utility that is snappyHexMesh. It has been exceeding my expectations so far.

There is a minor problem I have with the naming of patches that belong to different entries in an STL file. Is it possible to specify a single patch for all the different "solid" entries in one STL file?

From what I have seen so far, there are separate patches generated with respect to the different "solid" entries in the STL file in ASCII format, appending the solid name to the specified base name. When I tried to import a binary file (my preferred way), it seemed to want to create a large number of patches, possibly one per triangle (I am not sure about this though). What is the way to avoid this behaviour?

If this is only happening with

If this is only happening with binary format STL files, then I guess you have found a bug and should report it as such. If it is happening because your surface meshing utility has really defined each triangle as a different solid, then I suggest you address the problem at the upstream end.
