An open source software like gambit
I'm looking for a GOOD open source software like gambit to make structured meshes. I work with vessels in turbolence conditions.
I need something to define and modify boundary layers. thanks Davide |

With GOOD you mean?
- stable - versatile - decent GUI - .... If you find such a thing please let us know. http://www.salome-platform.org/ looks promising (but the last time I tried it I liked the concepts, but the implementation (no undo ...) made it difficult to use it for anyting practical) |
GOOD means similar Gambit but
GOOD means similar Gambit but open source.
I've tried Salome but it is not usable for anything pratical. Also Gmsh is quite good. What do OpenFoam users use in their projects? bye Davide |
Try Calculix GraphiX (www.calc
Try Calculix GraphiX (www.calculix.de). It can write meshes in OpenFOAM native format.
I use it with 'perl' for automatization |
How to adapt a mesh by some fi
How to adapt a mesh by some field(may be Pressure or temperature for example) gradient?
Is there any tool for doing this......... If so , please help me with it...... Also indicate the tutorial in which the adaptive mesh by gradient is used. I have tried the sonicFoamAutoMotion, but there is no tutorial attached to it... I started to create a test file for it, but had an error in giving the dynamicMeshDict file..... or in other words, how to edit or convey to the solver that i have to use mesh adaptation by gradient of the field i like.. |
