Hi!

What's the roadmap for snappyHexMesh? I mean, how is development going and what are the planned new features, if any? Where/how do I follow (and help, if I can) development of this tool?

/Mads

Look here if you are interested in feature lines:

Thanks for the pointer, bastil. I was just wondering if there were someone working on a "new and improved" super-duper version of snappyHexMesh :-) but I am guessing, this being an open source community, that "someone" might as well be myself...

So let me rephrase: how can I help? :-)

I guess that one of the missing features in the open source version, as pointed by bastil, is a better resolution of edges.
It is apparently available in the Icon version but I doubt they will release it as open source.
On my side I am working on conbination of SnappyHexMesh with other grid generators to try to get a good mesh rapidly around complex geometries, with not too many cells.

Yes, the edge capturing feature is missing.

I would like to use snappyHexMesh but without it I can't because I have to respect sharp edges.

I use enGrid.

Stephane

I don't think enGrid and SnappyHexMesh have exactly the same target in terms of geometries to mesh.
From what I saw with enGrid it is still not possible to do very complex geometries like with snappyHexMesh. But I agree that for "not too complex" geometries enGrid does a better job.
Not the same the same goals I would say.
