Dear OpenFOAMers,

according to everything what I have read, snappyHexMesh is used basing on a background hex mesh, typically generated with blockMesh. In many cases, however, it would be convenient to generate an unstructured tetra mesh at first, using SALOME for example, and then use snappyHexMesh (and snapEdge) to get fine boundary layer cells.

Is it possible to use snappyHexMesh basing on a tetrahedral background mesh? If no, would it be difficult to upgrade it somehow to make it possible?

Best regards,
Alexey Kochevsky
