Hi,

I have been doing 3D simulations of a axisymmetric geometry with a swirling inflow. I had done these earlier outside OpenFOAM, and am now looking to port all of my simulations to OF. I use OF16xt and OF20x , with the extend version mainly. I have done the 3D simulation also in OF and now have that solution ready and i can considerably reduce my computation time by making it a 2D axisymmetric configuration with a swirling inflow component also included in the BC. I have a 2D meshed fluent *.msh file of the 2D cut section of the axisymmetric geometry. I know i can use the fuentMeshToFoam to convert the mesh to foam format, but how do i tell OF that it is an axisymmetric simulation? As in, how do i convert a 2D mesh directly into the wedge mesh for use with OpenFOAM? How do i ensure that the swirling flow component of the momentum equation is also solved for? Any help on which utilities, boundary condition types, etc that should be used would help.

Thanks
V
