OpenFOAM User Conference 2013: update

The agenda for day 1, Plenary Session, is now published with presentations from the ESI CEO (Alain de Rouvray), industrial users (VW Group, Evonik Industries), senior OpenFOAM developers (Henry Weller, Mattijs Janssens) and Operations/Product Managers (Chris Greenshields, Anshul Gupta).

Some presentations for day 2, Parallel Sessions, are also confirmed from senior developers and industry. Further talks will be confirmed in the coming days and we invite submission of titles and short descriptions for further talks.

Day 3 will include talks on topics such as: new features in OpenFOAM 2.2; tips and tricks with OpenFOAM; flexible case setup; important CFD principles revealed; new developments and their benefits. The day of talks is the first of its kind devised by the OpenFOAM Development and Training teams. Miss it and miss out.

Presentations from the OpenFOAM user conference

Hi,

I haven't been at the conference, so as probably many others which haven't been there out of their will I would like to know if some (or all) of the presentations will be made available for download.

Thank you in advance

V.

Dear vesselin,

excellent question! We are currently asking the presenters if they would allow their presentations for sharing. I estimate this will take until the end of the month.

Make sure you visit us the next time! So much more added value to an in depth discussion after a presentation than "just" ppt slides... :-)

Kind regards,

Ries

Dear Ries,

actually I would really like to attend the conference (I was at the OF Workshop last year in Darmstadt and I was really happy that finally also the ESI-OpenCFD official branch has managed to organize a users-community oriented event), but unfortunately due to a change in my job position it was simply not possible this time :(
Anyway, I know the huge difference between an oral discussion with presentation's author and the sole viewing of a ppt by itself but at least it would be better than nothing ;)

Thanks a lot for the reply and hope to see you at the next event!

Regards

V.

Hello, everyone!

Can anyone give me a link to a report of the conference?

prasant May 23, 2013 05:44

Dear Vesselin,

Where can I find all those presentation slides? I am frequently viewing the OpenFOAM site. It will be good update those presentations, when ever you recieved from presenters, through CFD-Online or update in the OpenFOAM website itself.

Regards
Prasant.

Dear Prasant,

I'm sorry, but I don't have any of the OF User's Conference presentations: as you, I'm waiting for a feedback from ESI's people (see posts above), I guess that soon there will be some updates on this matter in this tread.

Best regards

V.
