OpenFOAM Introductory Course at Politecnico di Milano, March 3-5 2015
 

Dear FOAMers,

the Internal Combustion Engine Research Group of Politecnico di Milano offers a three-day introductory course about OpenFOAM at the Bovisa Campus in Milan. The course will be held from Tuesday, March 3rd to Thursday, March 5th. This course is dedicated to engineers and researchers who are interested in using OpenFOAM for CFD modelling and intends to provide a detailed introduction about its application and developments. Attention is also focused on validation of OpenFOAM on literature test cases (compressible and incompressible flows) and dynamic mesh handling.
During the course, the following topics will be covered:
1. Basics of OpenFOAM: installation, code structure, tutorials
2. Case setup and post-processing
3. Running OpenFOAM in parallel
4. Mesh generation
5. Advanced post-processing
6. Simulations of compressible and incompressible flows
7. OpenFOAM validation with experimental data
8. Dynamic mesh handling in OpenFOAM
9. Customization of OpenFOAM using C++ object-oriented language
In the final part of the course, OpenFOAM technology experts will be available for specific discussions about participants’ topics.
