Updated 32 Tutorials for OpenFOAMŪ 5.x and new Screencast

Hi all,

I just wanted to inform you that I updated my 32 tutorials which can be found on my website Holzmann CFD today in order to work with the latest OpenFOAM Foundation 5.x.

  • All files are consistently updated (e.g. header, run files)
  • I removed all groovyBC and replaced them using the codedFixedValue (however I kept the groovy code for references)
  • Small typos corrected and to be consistent with FOAM (e.g. 0.org -> 0.orig)
  • Fixed some cases which were not running (even in old versions)
  • Changed all code snippets which were outdated (e.g. patchAverage -> postProcess etc.)

Additionally I want to announce a new screencast series #7 about 'How to calculate the drag coefficient of Suzanne' which will be published after 21st November 2017. The introduction video can be seen here: http://www.holzmann-cfd.de/index.php/en/7-suzanne

The series #7 is based on Jozsef's invented Community Christmas Competition.

All the best to you,
Tobi

Hello Mr. Holtzmann,

I am working on OpenFoam version 4.1, now I am blocked on how to put logarithmic profile of velocity in inlet boundary conditions, I tried to use groovyBC but I have errors:

--> FOAM Warning :
From function groovyBCFvPatchField<Type>::groovyBCFvPatchField(c onst fvPatch& p,const DimensionedField<Type, volMesh>& iF,const dictionary& dict)
in file groovyBCFvPatchField.C at line 131
No value defined for U on inlet therefore using the internal field next to the patch

I installed swak4foam and groovy and I added in controlDict the libs commands.

Any help will be thankful, thanks in advance
