Dear OpenFOAMer’s:

Thank you all for your submissions to the 15th OpenFOAM Workshop! To accommodate several requests for extensions, we are extending the abstract submission deadline one last time to 29 February 2020! This is the final abstract submission deadline and there will be no more extensions. The link to abstract submission is here: https://www.openconf.org/OFW15/openconf.php

The 15th OpenFOAM Workshop will be held in Arlington, VA (just 2 miles from Washington DC) from 22-25 June 2020, and is hosted by Virginia Tech. The four-day workshop includes contributed technical talks, keynote speakers, and daily training on OpenFOAM from expert users and developers. Check out our great line-up of keynote talks, and the possibility to submit a paper to a special edition of the open-access journal Fluids at http://www.openfoamworkshop.org/

We hope to see you all in Washington DC this summer!

Posted on behalf of Jonathan S. Pitt, Chair, 15th OpenFOAM Workshop, and the entire OpenFOAM Workshop Committee

Is it possible to attend the event online? At least to some parts?

Hi,

I don't think this is possible but I will look into it and come back to you.

Unfortunately, there is no plan to broadcast the event online.

RE: 15th OpenFOAM Workshop Going Virtual

Dear OpenFOAM Community:

We are 90 days out from the start of the 15th OpenFOAM Workshop, and given the uncertainty of how long the travel and other government ordered restrictions may be in place, the organizing committee has decided to change the nature of the workshop to being purely virtual. We are excited that we can demonstrate that a "virtual venue" can still facilitate the international exchange of technical information for this grass-roots organization.

All workshop content, including keynotes, presentations, trainings and posters, will be given virtually (e.g., via Zoom). We still plan to offer the virtual workshop during the 22-25 June time frame and roughly follow the published schedule. More details on the technical logistics will follow in the coming weeks, but all contributed presentations will occur remotely, from your computer, with no on-site workshop attendance currently planned. At this time, you should not plan to travel to the Washington DC area for OFW15.

The registration has been updated to reflect a “Virtual Attendance Option”, and we encourage you to register for the event and participate as you are able. Spread the word! We have an opportunity to reach even more OpenFOAMers around the world.

We look forward to your virtual participation in the 15th OpenFOAM Workshop!

Best Regards,

The OpenFOAM Workshop Committee
