Gridcore AB and Wikki announce the following OpenFOAM Trainings:

Intoductory training in Stuttgart on 20 and 21 October 2010

Advanced training in Stuttgart on 20 and 21 October 2010

Introductory training in Gothenburg on 26 and 27 October 2010

Advanced training in Gothenburg on 26 and 27 October 2010

The trainings are organised in collaboration with IBM.

The courses will be delivered by Prof. Hrvoje Jasak and Dr. Henrik Rusche. Material covered will include use of OpenFOAM as a CFD solver, Overview of OpenFOAM library, and OpenFOAM in Use.

Also check out the OF's training schedule. I attended their courses (foundations & advanced). They were quite good.

Yes, there is a set of courses planned, and I am awaiting a final confirmation from our friends at Gompute. I have asked Iago to contact you directly, hopefully this will happen soon (tomorrow?). We will announce it here.

I saw on Gompute website that introductory courses are the only planned on the date Iago indicated above. No advanced course? Or are they taken at the same date as happened on 2010 (see the first post of this thread)?

OpenFOAM® Introductory Training in Burghausen, Germany on 18 and 19 September 2013

The agenda of the course is:

1) OpenFOAM as a CFD solver
· Mesh generation, conversion and set-up: importing Fluent and STAR-CD cases.
· Material properties, initial and boundary conditions.
· Running the solver, including massively parallel computations.
· Data analysis, sampling, graphing and postprocessing.
· Hands-on examples.

2) Overview of OpenFOAM library
· Basics of C++ programming language (with exercises).
· OpenFOAM library organization.
· Physical modeling capabilities.
· Top-level solver organization: physics, controls, data analysis.
· Finite Volume Discretization: theoretical base of OpenFOAM.
· Example of using OpenFOAM capabilities in a custom solver.

3) OpenFOAM in Use
· Extending OpenFOAM capabilities.
· Customized data manipulation.
· On-the-fly post-processing.
· Implementing a new boundary condition.
· Adding a new transport equation.
· Wmake build system.
· Hands-on examples.
· Parallel processing: theoretical basis, data decomposition and reconstruction, impact on coding.

4) Open Forum & Clinic: Questions and Examples including bring your own problem.
