Hello All,
Using paraview 3.8..
After sampling a plane in OF as .vtk I load it in paraFoam. Its a scalar field.
If I click on filter, statistics > descriptive statistics ..
But then there are no variables of interest to select in the object inspector/Properties..

Why? It should be possible to calculate the statistical values for a given scalar field?

Any help is highly appreciated!

I use 3.10 for descriptive statistics since this filter doesn't work for OF in 3.12.

Anyway, why don't you extract the plane directly in paraview instead of sampling from OF? It works this way.

Alternatively you could also try selecting the entire vtk plane and use the "Extract Selection" filter, then the descriptive statistics.
