[OpenFOAM] How to save data

Hi, everyone,

I am using paraview3.3, I would like to extract data over a line. I tried to use 'plot over line' and specified 2 points sources and the lines are plotted, but I donno how to extract the data of the lines so that I can import somewhere else? Anyone has ideas?

The way I do it is
1) extract the internal mesh
2) select the data analysis tab
3) specify two points for the required line and click the "Save as CSV" button

Hi, kshitij,

That helps, but do you how to do if I only want to save the velocity? Seems all the datas (pressure etc.) are saved automatically if I save data as CSV.

when you click accept, a whole list of variables will appear below the "save as csv" tab. you can click off the ones that you dont want

i believe the csv file writes everything for one variable, on one line. You will have to write a converter for it.

Alternatively you can try the post processing tool sample. Used by adding postDict to your system directory.

Sorry, but I can't find any "save as csv"-buttons in ParaView 3.3.0. Where is the trick?

I am using paraview 3.4.0, and the way i do it is as follows. in the File option, there is a save data option (you can also get this by ctrl+c). In the drop down menu, there is a CSV option. That should work.
