What determines scientific notations

In the tutorials sonicTurbFoam/nacaAirFoil the directories are:
1e-05 2e-05 3e-05 4e-05 5e-05 6e-05 7e-05 8e-05 9e-05 0.0001 0.00011 ..... etc what determines the scientific notation? |

That is the 'timeFormat' option in the system/controlDict. 'general' makes it switch. Use 'scientific' to force scientific notation always.

Nevermind I found an error in my code, C++ should generate them in this way by default.
