View problem with Paraview 3.6.1
Hi everyone,
I'm a new user of Ubuntu and I would like to use paraview as a post processing tool to OpenFoam. But when I open a VTK file, everything seems to work correctly exept that in cannot see anything in the graphic window. I can only see a picture when I'm manipulating the object (e.g. rotating it). I tried to find the solution in the help file and on several forums, but couldn't find any, could you help me out ? |
Turn off the funky desktop effects
Ubuntu by default gives you some nice desktop effects, such as windows becoming transparant or even floppy when you move them. Try deactivating the advanced desktop effects, there seems to be an OpenGL problem with Paraview if you have them active.

Is any body to help, pleaz? |
To kill the desktop visual effects
If you are running Gnome, from the Menu system:
System Preferences Appearance Visual Effects Select "None" You lose the funky wobbly and transparent windows, and gain a working Paraview. I have seen this with both NVidia and ATi/AMD graphics processors. |
wow
now it works very well! lol
thanks, Charles :) |
