Hey There,

i would like to post process things with ParaFoam.

Unfortunately I figuered that my "python shell is not available" klicking on tools->pythonshell. I found that i could set "PARAVIEW_ENABLE_PYTHON" to true before compiling, but where?

So I tried to use html for tools->record test.
But when I reuse the script he complains that I did not save the screen shots in "PARAVIEW_DATA_ROOT". But where can I find "PARAVIEW_DATA_ROOT" or define it if it is not available?

Thx & regards!

Greetings heavy_user,

OK, it's as simple as pie... well, sort of. In the folder ThirdParty-1.6 you have a script named makeParaView and a link named makeParaView-python. Now, if you follow the instructions for building Paraview in OpenFOAM's README, but if instead of running:
Code:
./makeParaView
You run:
Code:
./makeParaView-python
At the end of the building process (and assuming all goes well), you will now have python scripting in Paraview

But don't forget to install python, before re-building Paraview!!

And hopefully, the rebuild process will fix the problem you've had with:
