How to get pointDisplacement for chosen patch

Hi everyone !

I'm a beginner who learned OpenFoam (2.0 version) basis two month ago. I am working on VIV with flexible cylinder structure in a flow and I have two simple questions about things I didn’t find on the internet.

1. The oscillatory amplitude of my one-degree-of-freedom system is an important parameter I need to get for my study. I’m used to generate a forceCoeffs file and I would like to know if a similar file giving a point displacement of a chosen patch is possible (I’ve been using paraview to save pointDisplacement datas but it needs to write folders and takes a lot of time and hard disk space).

2. My study implies to know about some external forces effects on my mass-spring system. I am currently using sixDoFRigidBody function to simulate a linear spring with two parameters : spring and stiffness. I would like to know if it’s possible to generate a « housemade » force function with new parameters.
