buoyantBoussinesqSimpleFoam - thermal comfort rating?

1 Attachment(s)
Hi
I am wondering has anyone extracted a thermal comfort rating from openFoam results, my case is using the buoyantBoussinesqSimpleFoam solver - the domain is shown attached.
The aim of my project is to evaluate a Fanger PMV thermal comfort rating - yet I am unsure how to do this; is there a comfort script in openFoam that can achieve this>
best wishes

Unless someone from HVAC has already done this, you will either have to use functionObjects is the comfort factor (codedFunctionObject should do the trick). You can read more about it here:

http://foam.sourceforge.net/docs/cpp/a00283.html

Scroll down to the example they give. That should give you some idea of how to start. Good luck

thermal comfort in open Foam

Hi gowain,

First of all sorry for starting the thread after a long time. i have a task of doing thermal comfort using open foam. so i would like to know if u found a way to calculate PMV for your case. I would be very helpful if u could share your experience.
In addition to that i would like to ask you if there is any functionutility for calculating

1.Mean Age of Air
2.PPD
3.Draft Risk

thank you

Regards,
Naresh
