Question surface sampling

Hi everybody,

I would like to sample (U,V,W) over an internal surface.
To do so, I use the following function in controlDict:

surfaceSampling
{
type surface;
functionObjectLibs ("libsampling.so");
...

fields (U);

surfaces
(
InjectorOutlet
{
type plane;
basePoint (0 0 0);
normalVector (0 0 1);
interpolate true;
triangulate true;
}
)

}

The above implementation gave me: a list of (x,y,z) of face centers and corresponding (U,V,W) as I expected.

However, I obtained at the same time a list of coordinates of vertices for each face.

Unfortunately, by these vertices' coordinates, I found that there are many faces that contain vertices situated far from each other.

This fact is tricky because the distance between these vertices are larger than the mesh size.

I realize that the faces are created by intersecting the above plane with tetrahedral cells. Therefore, the triangles may have vertices with "strange" positions as described above.

Does anyone counter this problem?

If you have a solution to obtain faces that are the projection of cells over a plane as well as (U,V,W) for each face, I would be gratefully acknowledge.

The coordinates of these vertices belong to each triangle are equally necessary for me.

Thank you in advance,

Have a nice day,

vut
