Hi,
I did the tutorial stressFemFoam (plateHole) with 15dev and after that, i wanted to look at the results with paraFoam but there are no results. Do i have to type in a command in OF to calculate them after running the case?

thanks for help

Hey, i testing the stressFEMfoam tutorial too, and don't see some results in Parafoam or in the VTK version.

but i am sure, we have the results vor the U and se sigmas, i think the problem depents from the tetPointField format of the data. Normal Solvers create the data in the surfaceVectorField or the volVectorField. The streeFEMfoam create the Data in tetPointVectorField or tetPointScalarField.

So we use am method in Paraview to read that file an print the points

Have somebody an idea to solve the problem ?

Sebastian

Actually, it was the solver stressFemFoam that was updated in commit "a3b9ee8fac50db3decf0715003e3f05dcb819923" on the 10th of April 2014. You can browse the changes made online at the following locations:
Essentially, the new/updated solver loads the U file of type "tetPointVectorField" for initial field and for solving the equations, but it then operates the other field files as type "pointVectorField". This last type is supported by foamToVTK, which is why it works!

Best regards,
Bruno
