Hi dear Foamers,

I have a simple cube geometry and I want to export data to tecplot for postprocessing. I am using of41 and trying to simulate with buoyantBoussinesqPimpleFoam.

First I tried to export data by using foamToTecplot360, but Tecplot is unable to load faceZoneMesh file and shows an error like this "One or both of nodes of face 6 cannot be found on any other face of element 5 in the polygonal zone". And this message will also be displayed for other elements. but boundary values are correct.

Second time I tried to load data directly from Tecplot Data loader. it loads completely internal and boundary data but the data on boundaries is not correct. I set the wall temperature fixed to 350 but Tecplot shows something between 318 and 330 for the wall zone. I had this problems on other cases.

So in the first way the internal data does not loads correctly and the second way boundary data. I tried to combine these two but the resaults showed that was not a good idea

please help me what is the problem and how can I fix that. Personally I prefer to use foamToTecplot360.

the file size was about 3 Mb and I can't attach it.

thanks for your attention.

Instead of using foamToTecplot directly load the OpenFoam case file by loading controlDict in Tecplot 360. It gives the same effect as foamToTecplot. Trust me I've spent many a days figuring it out.

Hi Anirudh, thanks for your reply.

I changed to a very coarse mesh and now able to upload date.

Please take a look at my case. Open the data by loading controlDict inside the Tecplot as you said. Turn off the Inlet, Outlet and Step1 zone and then take a look at temperature contour on wall zone. You will see a Temperature distribution in range [302,310], while the wall Temperature is fixed to 350 in T file.

And if you turn on the all zones, you will see a Temperature distribution between [0,350], while the lowest Temperature is set to 300 in Internal and Inlet boundary.

So I decided to use foamToTecplot because it exports boundary data separately, but Tecplot is unable to load faceZoneMesh file.

Please help me to export my data to Tecplot.
