Dear all,

I calculated the flow through an Propeller usining MRF and AMI-Patches.
Now i want to compare my thrust and torque to experimental values. To do so I calculate both values in paraview. For thrust see Picture 1 and for torque Picture 2.

If Integrate now both values (see Picture 3) my torque nearly exactly agrees with my experimental value (about 256000 Nm) while my thrust ist about 50% too small (410000 N).

torque_force.jpg

My Question now: Am I using the wrong value for the thurst and i have to calculate something additional with my Forces? Or what is the Explanation for the wrong thrust value and the correct torque value?

I am thankful for every help.

greetings

Hello,

I am currently trying to do something very similar here, have compared my thrust values to experiment and get a similar thrust coefficient following your method in Paraview.

I am trying to get the same for torque, however i am not exactly sure how to compute that in paraview and unfortunately i cant read that line on the calculator shown in the screenshot. could you explain what exactly you specified there ?

many thanks

Did you figure out how to find the moments using paraview? I have calculated the forces but unable to find the moments. It would be great if you can shed some light on this problem.

Thank you
