Hello to all,
I need to calculate volumes of two mesh and i can't use the usual command checkMesh because it gives to me the same results because it doesn't show enough decimal digits.
Here my case: in the first pic there is my original geometry with straight walls, in the second there is the modified geometry with an irregular wall. The volume change in the second case is very little because inwards and outwards displacements compensate themselves but not totally. Now, how can i know the little volume variation? The irregular wall is a distinct patch, if i show it and not the others can i calculate its volume?

Thanks for help

Hi Flybob

You can try the writeCellVolumes post process function which creates a volScalarField of the volume for each cell, and then integrate scalar field using another post process function.

Brian

Hi FlyBob,

I was wondering if you could tell me how you wrote the commends as writeCellVolumes post process function. I have faced same problem.

Many thanks,
Ghazal

Hi all,

Did anyone manage to solve this issue? When I try to integrate the field V, both as a volFieldValue and as a surfaceFieldValue the utility says that it can't find V in the data base.

Thank you very much!
