Hello together,

after my first simulation with openFoam I wonder how to read the results of the velocity in a useful way. I've already searched a while for the solution but couldn't find a answer I understood.
I mean after the simulation openFoam writes the results for every time step to data 'U'. There I get the velocity in x,y and z direction for every cube of my mesh, right? But how do I get the resulting velocity of these 3 directions? Is there a command or a software that one can use to get that output or do I have to calculate it with paraview and if yes, how?

Thanks
Dave

you can make use of paraview. It can display velocities as a magnitude. You can also choose to make use of the glyphs filter in paraview to make use of arrows that represent the velocity vector

okay, thanks. But I want to get the results as a text file, so that I can compare the velocities. Isn't that possible?
