Hello all,

I have been solving a simple incompressible, laminar, case offlow around a circular cylinder and was wondering if there's any simple way so that I can compute only CL and CD, as other coefficients are not of interest to me (and will cost time and storage in my computer).
I have been using the following function inside controlDict:

functions
{

force0
{
type forceCoeffs;
libs ("libforces.so");
writeControl timeStep;
writeInterval $writeInterval;

patches
(
CYL0
);
CofR (0 0 0);
rho rhoInf;
rhoInf 1;
liftDir (0 1 0);
dragDir (1 0 0);
magUInf 1;
lRef 1.0;
Aref $lRef;
}
}

However, whenever I run the simulation, Cs, CmRoll, CmPitch, CmYaw and front and back contributions show up in the postProcessing/force0/coefficient.dat file.

I'm sorry if I am repeating any other post where this problem has been treated. I could not find the solution.

Hi,

- Yes, you are right. It is a problem, and hopefully, it will be resolved.
- At the moment, it will keep outputting them unless you compile a modified function object by deleting the relevant objects.

Hope these help.
