Howdy Foamers:

I have my run write out line data, which are written in the postProcessing folder. I am wondering if there exists python or R libraries that would read them.

I found myself writing scripts for parsing these files over and over again and I hope there is a nicely packaged solution ...

Thanks in advance, Gerry.

Dear Zhangyan:

Thank you for the link. The "challenge" (if I could call it that) is that I have a lot of them, mostly line sample data, that have to be read.

I ended up writing a simple package to process them and save the data in a dictionary. This way at least I don't have to rewrite the parser every time.

Thanks, Gerry.

Gerry - Did you ever find Python/R libraries that can read OF variable data-files? I found PyFoam, but it seems to be oriented toward setting up and controlling OF solver/parameter-files/applets (including paraFoam), rather than simply reading hundreds of data files into Python/R for processing.

Thanks,
Patricia
