Hello everyone,
i am running a S-A DDES of a Vehicle at the moment and want to asses the mesh quality via the ratio of resolved and modeled TKE. Mainly I am interested in a refinement region which is a ellipsoid around the drivers window. The results inside this region look plausible, but there are still two things I do not understand: 1. Why is there no resolved TKE in the freeflow? The Mesh is coarse there but the length scales should be very large, so they should be able to be resolved? and mainly: 2. Why is all the TKE behind the ellipsoid resolved? The mesh goes from fine to coarse, so intuitively there should be less resolved TKE? Note that directly in front of and behind the ellipsoid the Mesh refinement is the same. Still we see this diffrence in resolved TKE. I attached a Screenshot where the ratio of resolved TKE is visualized. (Red=100% TKE is resolved, blue=100% TKE is modeled) Thanks in advance! William |
