Hi,

I've made some simulation with VOF in openFOAM and now I would like to see my result as sharp interface (i.e with PLIC) not as distribution of alpha. Is there any tool/software which can do this for me?

Thanks for any help,
Klára

Yes, you can try the surface tracking solver: this moves the mesh to follow the free surface (but cannot deal with breaking waves). Is this what you are after? There is no PLIC solver in OpenFOAM.

Hi Klara!

If you just want to "see" a sharp interface you can always do this in the post-processor. All you got to do is decide on a threshhold for alpha:
- either do simple iso-surfaces
- use the clip-filter (there's a an option "by scalar there"
- use Threshold

Hi,

Thanks for the answers!
I was looking for the post-processing solution.

Thanks again,
Klara
