I noticed the parallelSource and parallelTarget options are gone in mapFields in OpenFOAM 2.3.x. There is now a parallel option, which I tried, but the source case is decomposed onto a smaller amount of cores than the target, and the code outputs a message saying the number of cores must be equal between the source and target when running in parallel mode. To me this seems a limitation or maybe I'm just using the new tool incorrectly. If anyone has any insight, it would be much appreciated.

The release notes for 2.3.0 state that mapFields has been re-written to enable parallel operation. Perhaps this means mapFields itself can run in parallel and this has nothing to do with the decomposed case. parallelSource and parallelTarget were indeed useful options which are now missing. Besides I always get a segmentation fault when running mapFields with the new parallel option. |
