the geometry is made by cubes in different sizes and because of meshing problems I can't remove walls between these boxes so I have walls between cubes but the point is that a liquid must be passed between these boxes and I don't know how can I define these boundary conditions in openfoam to have flow ?
thanks a lot

Hi,

the right question here would be: "how to remove an empty patch between two cubes with different mesh densities".

As you did not show your blockMeshDict (though full set of case files would be more convenient), suggestion is: search the forum for posts about "mergePatchPairs" and "stitchMesh".

thank you
I did not find the answer and I have to mention that I made the geometry in gambit .
this is the error is on the screen:
--> FOAM FATAL IO ERROR:
Cannot find patchField entry for walls

hello and thanks for your answers.
This is a two phase flow and the solver is interFoam in openFoam software.
As you can see here,I have made this geometry in gambit software and because of meshing problems I had to define some faces between volumes for example face number 1 and 2 and I choose wall boundary condition for these faces in gambit however I changed them to patch boundary condition in open foam. (there is flow in this geometry that it needs to pass these faces).
I checked the mesh and it was right but as soon as I want to see the geometry in paraview with paraFoam command I face with this errors:
Quote:
boundary field walls not found in object U at time=0
and it is repeated for alpha-1 and p objects too.
whenever I type interfoam command it gives me this error
Quote:
cannot find patchField entry for walls
I don't know what is wrong!!! if some one can help me I would be so appreciate.

thanks

Do you have a directory 0 setting up boundary conditions and initial values for your fields? (like in any tutorial case)
