"nFaces" and "startFace" ; what do they indicate?

Hello,

in some cases we use "boundary" file in constant folder to specify the boundary types.
there are two numbers written in front of the "nFaces" and "startFace" ;
what do they mean?
how we can know about these numbers for a new case, that is imported to the openfom through a .msh file (by gambit)?

regards

They indicated the starting face and number of faces, that a certain boundary patch has. Their numbers relate to the faces list. If I were you, I would not just copy-paste the boundary file from one case to the other, just because the gambit import messes the boundary types up. That will f*** up your mesh. Just use sed to replace text in the boundary file automatically.
